              Recycling Center

              The West Plains Recycling Center has a program that allows city residents to recycle with no extra effort. The city uses red fourteen gallon recycling bins for people to place their recyclables in. On the day trash is collected just place the bins next to any trash cans placed out for pick up.
              Recyclable items listed are to be separated into five categories:
              Glass and Aluminum

              Steel

              Tin cans

              Plastics

              Paper
              Picture

              Corrugated (shipping) boxes Flat Cardboard (cereal, shoe boxes)

              All Kinds: office paper, newspaper magazines, junk mail, computer paper

              ONLY Containers marked with  #1 or #2 this includes milk jugs, beverage, bleach & detergent bottles NO motor oil or cooking oil


              Food & Drink containers only, clear Brown or Green glass. No window glass, light bulbs, dishes or non food containers


              All aluminum, including drink cans, storm windows & door frames, pots & pans

              Steel food cans (tin Cans), scrap steel, copper, car batteries & other scrap metal


              Appliances such as refrigerators, dryers, dishwashers, washing machines, etc.

              Leaves, limbs, twigs & pine needles

              Any used motor oil & other oils
              How to Prepare


              Keep clean & Dry


              Keep clean & Dry, no wet or soiled paper


              Remove lids, rinse  dry containers




              Remove rings & caps, rinse & dry, DO NOT BREAK



              Rinse Cans


              Food cans should be rinsed, dry & labels removed

              ITEMS BANNED FROM THE LAND FILL
              By Missouri Senate Bill 530 tires, Yard Waste, Batteries, Motor Oil, Household Hazardous Waste, White Goods

              Tires accepted for a fee:   $1.25 per car tire
                                                         $5.00 per semi tire
